The crazy sex videosSeason 4 update brought plenty of buffs and nerfs to Warzone, but one group of weapons in particular benefited from the change, and they could be set to take over the meta.
Warzone Season 4 is yet another massive update for Call of Duty’s battle royale, bringing plenty of content to get stuck into. Not only are there new guns like FFAR 1 and LC10, but there’s also the Ballerina event to look forward to.

While some players are disappointed with the lack of meaningful changes in the Assault Rifle category, LMGs have been given huge buffs that could see them become the go-to guns.
In the Season 4 update, every Black Ops 6 LMG was given a major buff to its minimum and maximum damage ranges. In some cases, like the XMG, this made them effective all the way up to around 86 meters, much further than any Assault Rifle can manage.

“Our current weapon balance goals are focused on refining each class’s role,” they explained in the patch notes. “Our goal is to rework Light Machine Guns to become a reliable option for long-range engagements, while still being outperformed by Assault Rifles at mid-range.”
While this change is unlikely to knock dominant weapons like the Krig C or Grau off their perch, don’t be surprised to see LMGs showing up more often in Warzone matches going forward. The category has been virtually forgotten since BO6 launched, but this extra range gives them a clear purpose.

Of course, you’ll have to cope with longer reload speeds and some inconsistent recoil, but the solid damage output at 70 meters and above is a worthy tradeoff.
