GARDENA — Leonard Kim presents “Just Like Ol’ Times 2014” on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Gardena Elks Lodge, 15501 S. Vermont Ave., Gardena. Dinner buffet from 7 p.m.
Kim, owner of Cherrystones Restaurant, started the dances to recreate the heyday of the Asian dances in the ’60s and ’70s.
The band Kokoro will headline the dance, providing music with soul. Consisting of almost all Asian Americans, the group covers music from Motown to country, rock and pop; from the hits of the ’60s to current Billboard chart-toppers. Asian Persuasian will sing doo-wop classics, and there will be a special performance by Audrey Kamiya.
