Amazon's Fire HD tablets have ??? ?????? ??????? ???????? ??????? ?? ?????neverbeen exciting, but they typically come with reasonable price tags. So if you've been looking for a tablet that won't drain your bank account, you might want to consider the company's updated line of Fire HD 10s.
True to its name, the new $150 Fire HD 10 tablet features a 10.1-inch Full HD display (1080p) — which is 10 percent brighter than the 2019 version — along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and dual stereo speakers (with Dolby Atmos). Under the hood, it runs on an octa-core processor that's paired with 3GB of RAM, the combo of which should handle your web browsing and streaming needs just fine.
It also comes in two storage configurations: 32GB or 64GB. If that's not enough, both tablets have microSD card slots which allow for up to 1TB of expandable storage.
With Fire OS, the new Fire HD 10 also now supports split-screen view, allowing you to place apps side-by-side on your display to use simultaneously. The feature is currently compatible with apps like Zoom, Skype, Facebook Messenger, Kindle, and OneNote.
As expected, the tablet also comes with the Alexa voice assistant built-in. So you can control music or video playback, launch apps, ask questions, and more using only your voice.
Battery life remains unchanged from the previous generation. With the new Fire HD 10, you'll still get up to 12 hours depending on usage.
For those that want something a little more luxe, there's the $180 Fire HD 10 Plus, which comes in a slate color with a soft touch finish. In addition to all the same features as the "plain" Fire HD 10, you'll also get 4GB of RAM (instead of 3GB) and support for wireless charging (compatible with any Qi-certified charger).
And, if you're planning on using either the HD 10 or HD 10 Plus to get work done, Amazon is offering a "Productivity Bundle."
Starting at $220, this bundle offers users a Fintie detachable keyboard case and 12-month subscription to Microsoft 365 in addition to the Fire HD 10 (or 10 Plus). But you can also purchase both the keyboard and subscription separately for $50 and $70, respectively.
Amazon even made a new Fire HD 10 Kids version for $200. It comes with a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ free, parental controls, a two-year warranty, and a durable case to keep your child from easily breaking it.
For the older kids, the company introduced the Fire Kids Pro lineup. You'll have the choice between the Fire 7 Kids Pro ($100), the Fire 8 Kids Pro ($140), and the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (for $200). It comes with expanded content and features (like voice and video calling and expanded parental controls), a two-year warranty, and a protective case.
The Fire HD 10, HD 10 Plus, HD 10 kids edition, and Fire Kids Pro are currently available for pre-order and will begin shipping on May 26.
